TRIO - Upward Bound Math & Science Student Awarded $24,000 Scholarship
Breanna Vicente Huinac, a high school junior enrolled in Delaware Technical Community College’s TRIO - Upward Bound Math & Science program, has been named the recipient of the Donald and Nancy Edwards Scholarship. The scholarship, awarded through the Delaware Community Foundation, provides $24,000 (at $6,000 per year) that can be used at any accredited college for any major.

Commercial Transportation Program Delivers for Wreaths Across America Initiative
Renewing its commitment to a nationwide holiday tradition, Delaware Technical Community College’s commercial transportation program supported Wreaths Across America’s annual December wreath-laying ceremonies by picking up and delivering more than 5,000 wreaths to ultimately be placed on grave sites of military members across the region.

Delaware Tech Cuts Ribbon on New Allied Health Center of Excellence at George Campus in Wilmington
Delaware Technical Community College celebrated the opening of its new Allied Health Center of Excellence at the Orlando J. After an impressive 2024 season, the Delaware Tech women’s volleyball team earned a spot as the second seed in the NJCAA Region 19 Division II Women’s Volleyball Championship Tournament.

Delaware Tech Men’s Cross Country Team Claims Region Title for Second Consecutive Year
The Delaware Technical Community College men’s cross country team claimed the 2024 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 19 Division II Men’s Championship at the regional championship meet in Newark, N.J., and sophomore Brayden Fosty won the individual men’s title for the second year in a row.

Delaware Tech Students Launch a Rocket into Space
As part of the Delaware Space Grant Consortium, Delaware Tech participated in NASA's RockOn! Workshop at the Wallops Flight Facility in Wallops Island, Virginia. This annual event invites college students and faculty to assemble a rocket from a kit and launch it into space.

Delaware Tech’s Annual Hometown Heroes 5K Raises Funds for Student Scholarships
More than 300 runners and walkers joined Delaware Technical Community College employees, students, and volunteers on Sept. 18 for the annual Hometown Heroes 5k Run/1 Mile Walk hosted by the College’s Stanton and Wilmington campuses. This year’s race raised nearly $20,000 for student scholarships.

Delaware Tech’s Run, White, & Blue Attracts Almost 700 Participants and Remembers Fallen Firefighter, Thomas Berry III
The 11th annual Run, White, & Blue 5k Run/1-Mi Walk drew 695 runners and walkers on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at Delaware Technical Community College’s Owens Campus in Georgetown and raised over $26,000, which will support scholarships for veterans and first responders.
